Kito Peters: Home

Kito Peters makes pop/folk/jazz/rock/roots music that feels good while exploring big questions. In a sense his work can be described as Sixties songs for a new millenium. All of Kito's albums find hope and heartache in the uproar outside Eden.

Kito's 6th CD - Stories - was released in August 2007. It has received widespread radio airplay and was named Best Pop CD at the 2008 New Mexico Music Awards.

Kito's last three CDs - Stories (2007), Undertow (2007), and The Other Side (2005) - were all New Mexico Music Awards finalists for Best CD of the Year. His tune Empty was chosen Best Jazz Song at the 2007 NMMA, while Good Day to Die was selected NMMA Best World Beat Song in 2006.

Kito and his team also birthed three earlier albums. Semi-Blue (2003), a moody song cycle, was crafted in warm tones around Kito's live acoustic performances. The more edgy Exiles (2003) features a sophisticated stew of horns, guitars, loops, and keyboards. Last Chance Love (2004) offers a lush flow of rhythms and hooks supporting Kito's lyrical vision.
